Jocelyn started helping her parents out with DSI’s early growth by answering phones from the State of NM. At that time, DSI was only a toner supply business and this was their largest customer. She spent her summers remanufacturing cartridges with her siblings, taking apart toner cartridges and refiling them for resell. As small as it seems, the business hit it off with local companies because buying remanufactured cartridges reduced operating costs by half. Jocelyn did a little bit of everything when DSI was in its early years, after taking some time off for college and exploring other sales careers, Jocelyn returned to DSI in Albuquerque to be an account executive and soon moved up to a Major Account Executive, and finally to the Vice President of Sales.

The Development of Friendly, Reliable, Local IT
DSI’s VP of Sales, Jocelyn Gorman, started DSI Technologies (DSIT) unofficially in 2013 from an opportunity presented to her by negotiating an acquisition with TriCore, which continues to be one of DSI’s largest accounts. At the time, Jocelyn was DSI’s Major Account Executive and was informed by TriCore that they liked DSI’s managed IT services. TriCore asked if DSI would be interested in creating it into a framework. Soon, DSI bid on IT and won a contract against Accenture, one of the largest IT companies.
Jocelyn for the Community - Staying True to Core Values
The Parker Center for Family Business aims to help plan, manage, and grow family businesses in New Mexico. Founded by James and Linda Parker, the center focuses on the unique challenges to family businesses. The PCFB provides CPAs, lawyers, and other community professionals that specialize in creating general wealth from a family-owned business. Fun fact, over half of the businesses in Albuquerque are family owned and operated and 70% don’t even survive through the second generation. Rather than focusing on coaching just the owners of the business, the PCFB provides resources that educate families through next generation leadership development workshops and family business credentialing programs.
